Since 2013 a small team of friends have been fund raising and managing a building project for a school called Noah’s Ark Academy in Utange, near Mombasa, on the eastern coast of Kenya. The school originally had virtually no facilities and the 60 children were being taught in Florence Ngugi’s modest one storey traditional house.

We gained charity status for tax purposes with HMRC in 2013 and by mid 2016 had achieved our target of providing Noah’s Ark Academy with 3 new classrooms, water tower, drainage facilities, wash rooms/toilets, storeroom/office and fencing.

We are now moving on to tackle a similar project for St Peters the Rock Junior School (www.stpeterstherock.com).

As you can see from this link the school is for disabled children and provides education and accommodation for those who have a range of disabilities both mental and physical.

Please refer to the ‘St Peter’s the Rock School’ pages on this site for more information about our first visit to the school and a summary of our building plan.

In December 2016 we were granted full charity status with the Charity Commission as our yearly income now exceeds more than £5,000 per annum. Our Charity Number is 1170814.
